Raffles Institution Boarding

Introduction

Raffles Institution Boarding (RIB) provides our students boarders with safe and comfortable lodging. Here, the resident teachers, acting as Boarding Masters/Mistresses, take over the role of parents, mentors and teachers. Living needs, such as meals and laundry, are well provided for. The security, safety and welfare of the boys is our top priority. In short, we strive to create a home away from home for our boarders, a home where they are part of the larger Rafflesian community.

The essence of boarding life does not lie entirely in the quality of living conditions, although this cannot be disregarded. The real essence lies in the extent of care and concern extended, the companionship enjoyed, the close rapport with resident teachers and the strengthening of a young man's character.

Over at RIB, each of our boarders learns to be independent, builds life-long bonds with fellow boarders and emerges a more confident person to take on the challenges of an ever-increasing globalised world.
