Raffles Clinches Top Awards at Hillary Challenge Spore
On the 3rd of June, 2 Raffles Teams comprising uniformed group members from RI and RGS took part in the second Hillary Challenge (Singapore) Preliminary Competition at the MOE Changi Coast Adventure Centre.
27 teams took part in the one-day competition. All the participants were involved in different stations which set out to test their skills in leadership, teamwork and fitness. Some of the stations involved swimming in the open sea, cycling long distances, climbing, abseiling, orienteering, outdoor cooking, building tents. Both teams did very well and were in the lead from start to finish.
We are proud to announce that both Raffles Teams came in 1st and 2nd! This means that they will compete in the local finals in September. Only 12 teams will compete then and the champion team will go to New Zealand to compete in the Genesis Hillary Challenge 2010.
The Raffles Team was chosen to represent Singapore in the Genesis Hillary Challenge 2008.
