Description
Objectives
The aim of the Physical Education (PE) programme is to develop the physical, intellectual, social and emotional aspects of the pupil through physical activity. The PE department seeks to equip each pupil with the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to enjoy a physically active and healthy lifestyle long after he leaves the school. It serves to complement other educational areas in promoting educational outcomes that are not likely to be achieved in other subject areas.
Subject Philosophy / Rationale
The Raffles Physical Education Programme is concerned with developing the student's physical, mental, ethical and social wellness. Instilling in students the personal responsibility for one's own total well being will prepare them for life in an ever-changing world.
Enduring Understanding
Students will understand that the commitment to stewardship of the Physical Self will positively impact the long-term well being of self and society.
