The Raffles Academy for Music is a rigorous talent development programme that seeks to challenge and develop students’ passion and understanding for music and the arts, thereby producing future thinkers, leaders and pioneers in the field of music.
The main features of the curriculum of the Raffles Academy for Music had been designed in partnership with the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YSTCM) of the National University of Singapore, based closely on the academic requirements of the Conservatory’s Young Artist Programme. RA Music curriculum compacts the main content covered in the Raffles Programme MEP syllabus in about 50% of the curriculum time, while the other 50% will be used to cover YSTCM Year 1 Academic modules which include creative and research projects, and interaction and exchange with YSTCM faculty and students in ensemble performances; allowing students an experience of tertiary level engagements in musical studies.
