Home > Boarding

General Information

The boarding programme provides some unique features where boys will have to stay in, resident teachers, acting as Boarding Masters/Mistresses, will take over the role of parents. Living needs, such as meals and laundry, are well provided for.

Security, safety and welfare of the boys will be assured. In short, we strive to create a home away from home for our boarders, a home where they are part of a larger Rafflesian community.

The essence of boarding life does not lie in the quality of living conditions, although this cannot be disregarded. The real essence lies in the extent of care and concern extended, the companionship enjoyed, the close rapport with resident teachers and the strengthening of a young boy's character.

Over at RIB, your son learns independence, forges bonds with fellow boarders and comes out more confident to take on the challenges of an ever-increasing globalised world.

Meals included are breakfast and dinner on weekdays and all three meals on weekends and public holidays. Our Dining Hall kitchen has been certified halal by MUIS (Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura). A pantry on each floor caters to those requiring any refreshments in between meals. Supper is also provided in the evenings.

Laundry

Laundry facilities are also provided, in the form of washing machines, drying machines as well as a drying yard and irons. Moreover, professional laundry services are also provided. There are 3 collections each week, and items are returned by the next collection day. This helps to ensure that items such as school uniforms are well-pressed. At the same time, since each boarder will need to clean more than that amount, he will still have to learn to take care of at least part of his laundry needs.

The Boarding fees for one academic year is S$10, 000. (This does not include the holiday fees). For the school holidays, the fees are S$250 per week. Registration fee is $30.
